Celebrate David Bowie in Chicago
“Ground control to Major Tom,” a David Bowie Tribute Concert is coming to Chicago. Taking place at The Vic Theatre on Feb 23, the doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. At this event, a group of David Bowie’s former bandmates and collaborators gather to perform his music and pay tribute to his career. Ranging from the rock of Ziggy Stardust to selections from his last album, “The Next Day,” this is a concert you don’t want to miss. Note: you must be above 18 years of age to attend this event.
How it Began
“Celebrating David Bowie” was initially created as a one-time show. The first show was held at the Roxy in Los Angeles and sold out very quickly. With many special guests involved, an emotional 4-hour set was played with 100% of the proceeds donated to charity. News of the show went worldwide and in response, an entire international tour was put together for Bowie’s birthday. In 2018, the “Celebrating David Bowie” show traveled to 17 countries on five continents in less than three years. And now in 2019, the show is back with a brand-new lineup. Starting at $35, don’t miss your chance to purchase your ticket before they sell out.
